Sadie Weis is a transmedia artist and creator of work which plays at the intersection of visual and conceptual art and the scientific spheres through installations, painting, printmaking, sculpture and experiments. She has had solo exhibitions of her work in Berlin and New York City and has participated in many international exhibitions.
Sadie often collaborates with scientists, which in turn are very influential on her work. She recently completed an Art/Sci research residency in Cosmography and Dark Matter with the Astrophysics Institute of Potsdam (AIP), following another research residency with Nanophysicists at Paul-Drude-Institut für Feskörperelektronik in Berlin exploring the dynamic possibilities between art and science relationships for building a sustainable future.
She was a featured artist of the 2018 Berlin Science Week and a featured emerging artist for Loop-Raum für Aktuelle Kunst at the Preview Berlin Art Fair. Sadie has appeared in numerous fine art publications including MOMUS, Stillpoint Magazine, and Sleek Art. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Kansas School of Visual Arts in the United States where she received multiple academic scholarships in the fine arts. She has recently been awarded an Art/Science Research Grant from the GraFoX Campus Leibniz Association of Germany as well as the Emerging Artist Grant from SCOPE Art Foundation. www.sadieweis.com
